Carmex Precision Tools Ltd introduced MTDrill, a new type of solid carbide thread mills for thread hole machining, chamfering, and threading, all in a single work operation. The two-fluted drill / thread milling cutter has a 45degree countersink, which helps to allow operations under high feed rates, reducing machining times. Also, since the tool supports several operations, fewer tool changes are required and thus is ideal for mass production applications. It also offers both right and left-hand internal threads, and same tool for blind or through hole, with high thread surface quality and internal coolant advantages.
It has a shank diameter of 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm, with No. of flutes B=2, having an approximate cutting length of 12.0 mm, and available in ISO & UN(C/F) thread profile. The cutting data include carbide grade K20 and MT7. K20 is an uncoated Sub-Micron carbide grade dedicated for machining Aluminium and Cast Iron.
The MT7 is Sub-Micron carbide grade that combines high hardness and toughness, with PVD triple coating for smooth cutting and high performance. In addition, tools without coolant and Weldon shank are available upon request.
