Dormer Pramet GL Inserts Offer Deeper Grooving of Steels and Stainless Steel

Dormer Pramet, expanded its GL parting-off and grooving systems with a new range of double-edged inserts in various widths and an assortment of tools for general and small part machining. It is supported by a new designation that will allow the user to easily select the appropriate insert and tool. The 25mm GL double-edged insert is available in a variety of widths from 2-6mm, which achieves upto 60 per cent deeper grooving capacity due to its insert’s lengths, over its existing LCMF16 insert.

A G8330 PVD grade has been introduced for the GL insert to provide a versatile and stable option when machining steel, stainless steel and cast iron. It prolongs tool life with increased build up edge resistance (PM geometry) / increased cutting-edge strength (PR geometry).

The external tools from 16x16mm to 25x25mm with new advanced design and universal tool-blades 26mm & 32mm with special clamping key. The setup time is also saved when machining small parts due to accessible clamping screw (30° angled) and easy one-hand insert replacement. Furthermore, it provides high quality surface finish due to enhanced vibration resistance.
