Ingersoll New ‘ChipSurfer’ Range for Shoulder Roughing & Finishing

Ingersoll Cutting Tools, milling, boring and turning tool expert has expanded its application range of the proven exchangeable head system ‘ChipSurfer’. The latest rough / finish mills will have increased depth of cut vs. tool diameter ratio from the current 0.7xD to 1.5xD. These milling heads are available in the diameter range Ø8 / 10 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 25 mm. In addition to chatter free roughing and finishing, high metal removal rates, and special interchangeable head solution. Furthermore, the mills are fitted with capacity to ramp down, precise axial & radial runout, with an indexing tolerance of +/- 20 µm. It is designed for shoulder roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing applications, for all industries and applications within material ISO groups P / M / K / S.

This new range of products come in three variants, all with 1.5xD flute lengths. Firstly, the Rough & Finish Mill 1.5xD 47D can be used with Z=4, provides interchangeable solid carbide rough milling heads for high metal removal applications. Secondly, the Finish Mill 1.5xD 48D can be used with Z = 7/9, allows interchangeable 7-9 flute solid carbide endmill heads with different helix, variable pitch, and various corner radii. Lastly, the Rough Mill 1.5xD 47C_ can be used with Z = 4/5/6. It is interchangeable solid carbide heads with serrated geometry and variable pitch for chatter free roughing operations, high material removal rates with increased ramping down capability.
