Schunk Präzisionswerkzeuge Invests in PD2i to Perfect its Competence

Provider of Coating and optimizing premium cutting tools, Schunk Profinish, in combination with the tool manufacturer Schunk Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH invests in performance made by PD2i, a leading supplier of high performance PVD and PeCVD coating equipment and technology. With new PVD coatings, the companies can perfect their competence and offer an increased tool performance in various applications, like hard machining for mold and toolmaking. Besides the standard PVD coatings, specific coatings for the new MpC 600 (Multipurpose PVD Coating System) were engineered in a joint development, which are perfectly matching the products of Schunk Präzisionswerkzeuge.

PD2i, established in 2013, also offers Hybrid Technology, Plasmanitriding, Duplex PVD and Duplex DLC Furnace. It provides edge preparation technology with turnkey solutions, along with components for Plasma technology (Magnetron, Arc sources, Filtered Arc, Iongun etc.).
