Sumitomo Expands WEZ Series for Multi-tasking Machines with Dedicated Tools

Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd expands its versatile, high-precision shoulder milling cutter ‘SEC-WaveMill™ WEZ series’ for multi-tasking machines. The latest addition to the series includes dedicated tools that cope with the highest precision, stability and cost effectiveness involved with the use of multi-tasking machines. It uses a short shank that supports a variety of collets, coupled with high-precision inserts with sharp cutting edges to achieve excellent shoulder accuracy and finished surface quality, even on low-rigidity multi-tasking machines.

 The additional features include shank configuration suitable for ER collets with face contact design which improves rigidity along with superb machining quality. With a wide selection of chipbreakers, sharp cutting edges, different nose radii, and dedicated grades for specific work materials, it supports various machining applications. The cutter lineup of WEZ11 Type & WEZ17 Type of cutter diameter ø14-ø25 mm and ø25-ø32 mm, respectively, are applicable to various fields of automobiles, aerospace, shipbuilding, and industrial machinery.
