Tungaloy Corporation extends its SpinJet coolant-driven, auxiliary high speed spindle series in order to include the HPC SpinJet line. It harnesses higher coolant pressures in a range of 4-7 MPa (40-70 bar, 580-1,015 psi), spinning the turbine at 45,000 RPMs. The SpinJet is easily adaptable to the spindle of existing CNC machines, providing instant enhancements in machining performance using small diameter cutting tools.
It uses the machine’s existing through-spindle coolant supply as a pressurized power source for driving the internal turbine for cutting tool rotation, thereby preventing the costs and inconvenience of external air or electric power supplies. This feature gives it a compact and intelligent design, allowing it to be stored in a machine’s ATC or tool magazine when it is not being used and installed on the main spindle as with any other standard tool.
In addition, the SpinJet features a wireless display monitor that provides operators with real-time performance of RPMs for optimal cutting tool conditions according to actual rotational speed on the workpiece. The HPC SpinJet can handle various rotating tools up to 3 mm in diameter with improved internal turbines and bearings for higher torque output. It boosts productivity when compared with conventional spindle setups, as in a conventional setup, a small tool cutting process had to be done using another dedicated high-speed spindle machine due to insufficient spindle rotation.
HPC SpinJet eliminates the need for workpiece transfer, thereby keeping the process chain intact for better machine downtime and operation efficiency. There have been six new models introduced, which includes, TJSHPCBT40, TJSHPCER32, TJSHPCHSKA63, TJSHPCCAT40, TJSHPCC6, and TJSHPCST20.
