WhizCut’s New Double Parting Off Insert with Carbide Grades for Greater Stability

Precision Swiss tooling manufacturer, WhizCut has re-invented WhizTwin - the latest twin-edged parting off insert. The patent pending design of the insert generates a cutting edge stronger than any other and the stability of this tools’ 1,2 mm part off insert achieves the same result as a 1,5 mm wide conventional insert from the top – and is considerably stronger below. The strength and increased stability of the cutting edge is maximized with two cutting edges at the front. This lets the toolholder be clamped in a more stable position with a smaller overhang from the toolholder plate, increasing tool life by reducing instability and vibrations which are the main challenges when parting off.

The WhizTwin provides a complete range of parting off / grooving tools with choices from 0,5-2 mm and extra-long 0,5 mm insert, that parts off 13 mm. The tool represents a range of new carbide grade 7, designed for faster and tougher machines and materials. The inserts are available in all five grades: 7M, F7, B7, T7, ND7. The new tool comes with a choice of four different chip controls, cutting rakes (range 2°, 7°, 12° and 18°), and point angles (Style P 0°, Y 6°, Z 15°, and U 30°) to optimise performance for most applications.

Most inserts are available with sharp or radius corners. The narrow insert allows in lowering production costs, as the users can save material and barstock, thus removing less bar material is environment friendly too. Furthermore, four different types of tool holders are available such as, WhizAdjust - center height adjustable holder, WhizHip - coolant through holder, Right hand holder, and Left-hand holder.
